On the morning of November 18, the 12th "Vietnam Cultural Day" and "Vietnamese Teachers' Day" celebration was held grandly in front of the International Education Exchange Center on Yucai Campus. A five-member delegation led by Consul Fan Zhongjun from the Vietnamese Consulate General in Nanning, all the faculty and staff of the Office of International Exchange/ College of International Culture and Education, totally over 300 people, attended this event. At the opening ceremony, Consul Fan Zhongjun and person in charge of the GXNU International Exchange Office both made a speech. The Vietnamese students gave their teachers flowers to show their gratitude. Meanwhile, the Vietnamese students had also prepared delicately all sorts of traditional Vietnamese games and food, which brought this event to a climax. This celebration came to a conclusion with joy and laughter.
On that night, the 2017 "Vietnam Cultural Day" and "Vietnamese Teacheres' Day" Celebration Gala was held at the conference hall on the first floor of the Tianjiabing Education Building. The gala was sponsored by the Office of International Exchange/ College of International Culture and Education of GXNU, and held by the International Students Association, while co-sponsored by Vietnamese Consulate General in Nanning and cultural, sports and tourism departments of Lang Son Province, Vietnam. The guests present at the gala were Mr. Fan Zhongjun, representatives from the Office of International Exchange/ College of International Culture and Education of GXNU and representative teachers from other colleges of GXNU.
Before the gala, the fabulous Vietnamese costume fashion show left a deep impression about Vietnamese ethnic culture on audience's mind. Then, the gala commenced with the folk dance "Lolo Girls." A group of Vietnamese students wearing traditional national costumes showed traditional Vietnamese culture with their beautiful dance. The overseas students in GXNU coming from Indonesia, Thailand, Nigeria, Mongolia and so on, Vietnamese students from other colleges in Guilin and the Chinese students from the international programs of the CICE also contributed to the climax with their own performances. The gala lasted for over two hours, and finally came to a conclusion with thundering applause and cheers.
The Vietnamese Teachers' Day is each November 20. In the past decade, the Vietnamese students in GXNU have welcomed this festival each year by activities such as food fairs, games and parties.
