President Liang Hong of GXNU Visited China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park to Sign Cooperation Framework Agreement

On February 20, a delegation led by President Liang Hong went to visit the China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park and had a meeting with  Park authoritiesin regards to carrying out strategic cooperation, promoting basic educational development, establishinga scientific research center, and creating a scientific and technological innovation base  to further strengthen  cooperation between the university and local community, and better serving the national "Belt and Road" Initiative. The attendees included Managing Deputy Director Gao Pu, Deputy Director Lin Haibo, Management Committee member of China-Malaysia Industrial Park Huang Kehong , leaders of related governmental offices, and directors of our Office of Party Committee, School Office, Office of Development and Planning and Office of Basic Education.

Before the meeting, accompanied by Deputy Director Gao Pu, the delegation led by President Liang Hong made field visits to the middle school, primary school, Joy Sense Cable, HebaBiz Pharmacy and other project sites.

During the meeting, Deputy Director Gao Pu extended a warm welcome to the delegation led by President Liang Hong and introduced the Park. Gao Pu held that  GXNU was a comprehensive university with distinct educational features, evident disciplinary advantages and extensive international exchanges; that  GXNU boasted a profound history, quality faculty and abundant scientific research results, and as such, he had  for long been looking forward to cooperating with  GXNU. During the meeting, President Liang Hong said that the Beibu Gulf was prospering and the Park was developing at an astonishing rate with anunprecedented development scale; that the development and construction of the Park were ever renewed, which was rather exciting, so he was very confident in successfully cooperating with  Parkofficials. The two sides hoped to further strengthen communication, and establish liaison mechanismsto cooperate and quicken the pace of carrying out projects.

After the meeting, President Liang Hong and Deputy Director Gao Pu signed a cooperation framework agreement. According to the agreement, the two sides would have in-depth industry-university-research cooperation, establish a platform for research commercialization, join hands to build "International Associated Research and Development Center of ASEAN Medicinal Resource," cooperate to build quality schools for "China-ASEAN Innovation and Entrepreneurship College," provide talent and intellectual support, train talent for internationalized innovation and entrepreneurship for the social and economic sectors of the Park and the ASEAN countries,  serve the "Belt and Road" Initiative, and  promote the construction of the "two countries, two parks."

The China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park was the third international park jointly built by Chinese and foreign governments. With the strong support of the Chinese and Malaysian governments, the China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park and the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park jointly opened a new mode of international cooperation involving "two countries, two parks," acting as active pioneers and practitioners in serving the national "Belt and Road" Initiative and promoting international  cooperation based on industrial parks, thereby enriching the upgraded China-ASEAN Free Trade Area (CAFTA).

By the end of March, the authorities of the China-Malaysia Industrial Park will have visited our university to  further discuss the next stage of work.
