On November 27, the "Belt and Road" Education Dialogue International Conference sponsored by the National Institute of Education Sciences was held in Beijing. The theme of this conference was to promote the educational exchange and cooperation in the progressing of the "Belt and Road," to share the latest research results in educational fields, and to explore opportunities of establishing educational research cooperation projects for common progress. The theme covers the following areas: literacy and curriculum innovation, student flow and cross-border education, future higher education and academic flow, fourth industrial revolution and future school, entrepreneurship education and youth employment, and early development and education of children. The participants included over 70 overseas representatives from over 60 countries (regions) along the "Belt and Road" and representatives from Chinese Ministry of Education and local governments, institutions of higher education, research institutes and primary and middle schools along the "Belt and Road," totally over 200 participants. Those present at the conference also included Assistant Minister Zheng Fuzhi from the Ministry of Education, Dean Tian Huisheng from the National Institute of Education Sciences, Counselor Lu Mei from the International Economy Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Deputy Director Tao Hongjian from International Affairs Department of Ministry of Education.
Sun Yuanjie, Vice President of GXNU and Yangtze River Scholar of Ministry of Education, gave a keynote speech titled "Belt and Road and Education Focusing on Co-existence," as a specially-invited guest. His report highlighted the assumption based on "Belt and Road," the necessity of education focusing on co-existence in carrying out the "Belt and Road," the typical examples of education focusing on co-existence and structuring of such education. Prof. Sun Yuanjie used Guangxi as a case to examine the historical inheritance, cultural foundation and strategic design by which Guangxi aimed to serve the "Belt and Road." He pointed out that since the ancient times, Guangxi had been an epitome of co-existence of nature and humanity; the Guangxi Normal University had a good tradition and foundation and was capable of designing and carrying out the "education featuring co-existence of nature and humanity" to make contribution to the ultimate realization of the strategic goals of the "Belt and Road."
