Delegation of Five Province Governors of Southern Thailand Paid a Visit to GXNU

On December 15, a delegation of five province governors of Southern Thailand led by Governor of Ranong Prefecture, Mr. Chatupot Piyamputre, totally 14 guests, paid a visit to GXNU. From 15:00 to 16:00, President He Zubin met the guests at the Room 201 of the International Education and Exchange Center on Yucai Campus of GXNU. The participants also included leaders from Guilin Municipal People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Guilin Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, and President' Office, College of Arts, Office of International Exchange and College of International Culture and Education of GXNU, as well as Thai students in GXNU

At the welcoming ceremony, on behalf of GXNU, President He Zubin extended a warm welcome to the guests and introduced the GXNU, especially the part of GXNU's exchange and cooperation with Thailand. Mr. Chatupot Piyamputre expressed his gratitude to our hospitality. He said that the delegation specially added this visit to GXNU to their itinerary of visit to Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, in a bid to promote the exchange and cooperation between the local universities and GXNU through officials' field trip and exchange. He also suggested that the delegates report the details of this visit to their educational authorities after returning to Thailand and pay special visits again according to their specific needs then. Besides, he specially expressed his gratitude to the Confucius Institute co-founded by GXNU and Prince of Songkla University for its contribution to the promotion of Chinese language teaching in Southern Thailand and China-Thailand educational and cultural exchange. He said that he hoped that the GXNU offered more opportunities for students from Thailand, and especially trained more talent specialized in teaching Chinese in Thailand and technicians able to speak Chinese.  

During the visit, the delegation visited the GXNU's ASEAN Education and Exchange Cooperation Exhibition Hall, Thai Culture Center and Indonesian Culture Center, and had a general understanding of the achievements of GXNU in exchange and cooperation with ASEAN in educational and cultural fields.
