A delegation led by President He Zubin paid a visit to Thailand from December 21 to 25, 2017, with a complete success. During the visit, the delegation visited the Prince of Songkla University and Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna, Thailand, and had discussion and negotiation with the leaders of these two universities on mutual cooperation, in a bid to promote the cooperation and exchange between GXNU and Thailand.
During the visit to the Prince of Songkla University, the GXNU delegation attended the 11th anniversary celebration of the founding of the Confucius Institute of the Prince of Songkla University (co-founded by GXNU). At the celebration ceremony, President He Zubin expressed his gratitude to the constant support of the Prince of Songkla University for the Confucius Institute, and his expectation for further promotion of Chinese language and culture in Thailand. The GXNU delegation gave a performance of playing traditional Chinese musical instruments, showing the charm of Chinese culture. Witnessed by the faculty and student representatives from the two universities, President He Zubin signed a renewing agreement to co-build the Confucius Institute with President Chusak Limsakul from the Prince of Songkla University, which further consolidated the cooperative relation between the two.
After the ceremony, the delegation moved to the Confucius Institute of the Prince of Songkla University and had an informal meeting with the faculty and students there. President He Zubin encouraged them to continue to work hard and make progress, so as to make a contribution to the development of the Confucius Institute and China-Thailand friendship. The delegation also visited the Law School of the Prince of Songkla University and had a meeting with personnel in charge there. The two parties reached an agreement on the joint program of law major and faculty and students' exchange programs.
After the visit to the Prince of Songkla University, the delegation went to visit the Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna, Thailand, where they received a warmest welcome. The two universities had a productive discussion on cooperation on majors such as business management, tourism management and Chinese language, and signed MOU on the exchange program of fine arts major.
This visit to Thailand furthered the exchange and cooperation between GXNU and universities in Thailand, explored new joint programs, promoted the reputation and strength of GXNU as an internationalized university and made a contribution to the progress of GXNU towards a "Double Top" university.
