From January 17 to 31, for the first time, GXNU sent a team of nine students from seven colleges visited the Ibaraki Campus of Ritsumeikan University for a two-week cultural exchange program, aiming at promoting exchange and cooperation with Japanese institutions of higher education and broadening students’ vision.
This exchange program focused on business English learning and cultural study activities. During this program, students learnt about the development and trend of current global business, specifically, about economic management, market operation, enterprise development, business development opportunity and world trade, through case study, group discussion and in-class experiment. Besides, our students also visited the factory of Daifuku Co., Ltd., the largest logistics system integration manufacturer in Japan, to experience on the site the advanced automatic logistics operation system and technology of Japan. Our students also learned about Japanese matcha making procedures and filming making art and culture respectively at the Uji matcha workshop and the Universal Studios Japan. Through this program, our students experienced the higher education, enterprises, social culture, tradition and custom in Japan, with broadened international vision and horizon.
GXNU and Ritsumeikan University established cooperative relation in 2004. The success of this exchange program furthered strengthened this cooperative relation. Such international exchange programs in summer and winter vacations are important for furthered exchange and cooperation between international institutions of higher education. This also marks an important step forward of GXNU towards better internationalized education.
