From September 23 to 30, 2018, GXNU’s delegation led by President He Zubin visited UK and Sweden and signed cooperative agreements with two universities there, in an effort to promote international cooperation and exchange in education.
The delegation visited the University of Chester and the Teesside University in UK, and the Dalarna University and Uppsala University in Sweden. During their visit, they also met the GXNU’s students studying at the University of Chester and the Dalarna University.
President of University of Chester once visited GXNU in 2016, and this time received with great hospitality the delegation led by GXNU’s President He Zubin. The two parties signed an agreement on establishing the Academy of International Exchange and held a ceremony to celebrate its opening at the China Center of University of Chester.
The Teesside University was well-known for its design programs, among which the amination design program ranking 1st in UK and 15th in the world according to Creative Skillset. During their visit to this university, the GXNU’s delegation learned about the teaching and facilities on the spot and thought highly of its advantage in cross-disciplinary education. The two parties signed many cooperative agreements on multiple joint programs.
The Uppsala University is one of the most time-honored universities in Northern Europe, founded in 1477 and ranking top 100 in the world. It is known as an institute with the most Nobel Prize winners in Sweden and the most alumni working at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. The Dalarna University is very well known for its online education. As the GXNU and these two universities currently just have exchange programs for students, there is still a great room for their future cooperation.
This visit to UK and Sweden helped promote the GXNU itself and achieve substantial progress in international educational cooperation.
