University of Chester Visiting GXNU

On October 29, Phil Harris, Dean of Business Research Institute and Head of China Affairs Office of University of Chester, UK, led a delegation visiting Guangxi Normal University (GXNU). This visit was the first return visit after Professor He Zubin (President of GXNU)'s visit to University of Chester in September. This return visit aimed to promote and strengthen cooperation and contact between GXNU and University of Chester, to create opportunities of student exchange, teacher exchange and cooperation on joint cultivation of postgraduates. Theme lecture and program information session were successfully held. Mr. Su Guifa, Vice President of GXNU, members of College of Mathematics and Statistics, College of Arts, College of Economics and Management, College of Foreign Languages, Computer and Information Engineering College, College of Design and College of Education all attended the face-to-face talk on October 29. The hostess was Mrs. Li Dongmei, Director of Office of International Exchanges.


During the talk, the hostess, on behalf of GXNU, expressed warm and sincere welcome to the distinguished guests and then introduced the cooperation history in the past two years between GXNU and University of Chester. Professor Phil Harris praised the cooperated programs, and introduced University of Chester and Chester City briefly. Afterwards, both parties discussed mainly about short-term student exchange programs in different fields, joint cultivation program, degree program, MBA cooperation program, teacher exchange, teachers' teaching and training program. Both parties reached the agreement of cooperation. Finally, Mr. Su Guifa, Vice President of GXNU, issued a job offer of Visiting Professor to Professor Phil Harris and made a concluding remark. Mr. Su Guifa, Vice President of GXNU, stated that cooperative programs between GXNU and University of Chester yielded impressive results and he hoped both parties would further and continue cooperation. After the face-to-face talk, Professor Phil Harris went to Yan Shan campus, gave a theme lecture about international development and entrepreneurship, and gave a information session about University of Chester's bachelor degree program. There were about 300 teachers and students attended the lecture and session.
