On the morning of June 19, 2019, the Vietnam-China Friendship Association Delegation, led by Mr. Ruan Rongguang, the Vice-chairman of the Vietnam-China Friendship Association, paid a visit to Guangxi Normal University (GXNU) and visited the Memorial Hall of Vietnam School of GXNU. Mr. Peng Shituan, the Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam accompanied the delegation. Mr. Su Guifa, the Vice President of GXNU, and representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges and the Memorial Hall of the Vietnam School, also took part in an informal discussion with the delegation.
Mr. Su Guifa, the Vice President of GXNU extended a warm welcome to the delegation and introduced the advantages of GXNU, the historical ties it shared with Vietnam, the conservation and renovation efforts made at the cemetery of Vietnamese friends, along with the history of cooperation and exchanges between GXNU and different faculties in Vietnam in recent years. Mr. Ruan Rongguang, leader of the delegation group, extended his congratulations on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. He said that the visit was to look back in history and to look forward to the bright future. He also spoke highly of GXNU's popularity in Vietnam and hoped that GXNU would continue to expand its cooperation with Vietnam. He also wished that the friendship between the Chinese and the Vietnamese could be passed down from generation to generation.
