  GXNU Winning 2017 Guangxi Science and Technology Award for Special Contribution, the Highest Award

(Chen Jing from Guilin Daily) 2017 Guangxi Science and Technology Award selection result has released, with 148 high-tech projects with sound economic and social benefits as winners, among which, the project titled “Discovery of New-type Antineoplastic Active Compound with DNA and Protein as Drone” presided by Prof. Liang Hong won the Award for Special Contribution. 

Guangxi Science and Technology Award includes Award for Special Contribution, Award for Natural Science, Award for Technological Invention, and Award for Scientific and Technological Progress. Every year, these awards are conferred to those who have made major contribution to Guangxi’s economy and society. Among these awards, Award for Special Contribution is the highest. This year, one was conferred to the project titled “Discovery of New-type Antineoplastic Active Compound with DNA and Protein as Drone” presided by Prof. Liang Hong. This research expands and leads the research and innovation in the fields of pharmaceutical and protein biological inorganic chemistry globally, winning high appraisal from the international academics, making a huge impact internationally and reaching a leading international level. 

2017 Guangxi Science and Technology Award includes two awards for Special Contribution, 2 first prizes, 10 second prizes and 8 third prize of Award for Natural Science, 10 second prizes of Award for Technological Innovation, 8 first prizes, 31 second prizes and 64 third prizes of Award for Scientific and Technological Progress. The winners included Guangxi Normal University, Guilin University of Technology, Guilin Medical University, Guilin University of Electronic Technology, and some other institutions of higher education and research institutes.
