The College of International Culture and Education was founded in 2000 as a bridge between China and the world. The college is mainly responsible for the recruitment and education of international students learning Chinese language and culture, as well as Chinese undergraduate students learning foreign language and culture. The college's two departments are the Department of Chinese Language and Culture, and the Department of Foreign Language and Culture. Since 2006, more than 10,000 foreign students have been enrolled by the college to study on short or long-term programs. Students from over 60 countries have studied in the college, including USA, UK, Australia, South Korea, Japan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The current enrollment is roughly 1,800 foreign students (short and long-term combined). This has created a fantastic learning environment for foreign and Chinese students alike.
