2018 Workshop for Senior High School Principals from Indonesia and East Timor Held in GXNU
From April 21 to 28, 23 principals from nine senior high schools in Indonesia and three senior high schools in East Timor attended the “2018 Workshop for Senior High School Principals from Indonesia and East Timor.”
During the one-week workshop, we prepared special lectures on “Introduction to China” and “Introduction to Chinese Primary and Secondary Education,” The workshop also included: a lesson on Chinese knot making, an observation of a Chinese language class, a visit to Middle School Attached to GXNU, visits to the Yanshan, Wangcheng and Yucai campuses of GXNU, and visits to the ASEAN Education and Exchange Cooperation Exhibition, the Vietnam School Museum, the Indonesian Culture Center and the Thai Culture Center.
On the afternoon of April 26, the closing ceremony was held in room 201 of the International Exchange Center on Yucai Campus. Vice President Su Guifa of GXNU was present at the ceremony and conferred the course-completion certificates. Dr. Haryono, Principal of Christian High School YSKI, Semarang, and Dr. Sebastiao Pereira, Principal of SMA Cristal, Dili, Timor-Leste made speeches successively, showing their gratitude for GXNU’s hospitality. They also mentioned that they had deeper understanding of GXNU and greater confidence in cooperating with GXNU through this workshop. As a result, they would like to recommend more teachers and students to study at GXNU in the future.
GXNU always values cooperation with Indonesia and East Timor. We have established a Confucius Institute at State University of Malang and a Chinese Language and Culture Center at East Timor Institute of Business.
