2. Qualifications
A-class Lijiang River Scholars
2.1 should be engaged in academic research and teaching work (core courses);
should not be older than 45 years (natural science and engineering technology) and 50 years (social science);
and should be a full-time professor with a doctoral degree.
2.2 should finish the following academic tasks over the past 5 years:
2.2.1 presided over a national research project with another one completed; or
one major project of the National Social Science Foundation of China; or
one major project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China or the National Major Scientific and Technological Special Projects;
or major scientific research projects overseas.
2.2.2 For humanities and social sciences: published two academic papers (the leading author) in Social Sciences in China; or
3 academic papers cited by top 50% journals of SSCI; or
3 originally specialized high-quality academic papers (2 papers for Music or Arts disciplines) published in A-level Journals on Serials Directory of Awards for Academic Papers in Guangxi Normal University; or
3 papers reprinted in full (or over 3,000 words) by Xinhua Digest or China Social Sciences Digest or papers reprinted over 3,000 words by Material in the Copy Press from Renmin University in Arts or Sports Disciplines; or
obtained Silver Award for individual artwork (second place) or above in a national art competition; or
obtained Silver Award for individual photographic work (second place) or above in a national photographic exhibition; or
obtained Silver Award (second place) or above as individual in national music or dance competitions; or
the top three in national sports events.
For natural science and engineering technology: published at least 4 academic papers (the leading or corresponding author) in journals in the second Quartile (Q2) in SCI
2.2.3wonone state-level teaching award: 2nd prize or above (ranking first); or
one award for scientific research achievements issued by MOE or the Ministry of Science and Technology (ranking first)
3. Salary and benefits
(1)A lump-sum payment: 1.2 to 1.4 million RMB
Settling-in allowance: 0.7 million RMB
Accommodation: an on-campus apartment or 0.2 million RMB housing subsidy
Research start-up fund:
0.5 million RMB (natural science) and 0.3 million RMB (social science) in addition to the subsidy granted by the Guangxi Government.

2. Salary and Benefits
(1) A lump-sum payment: 0.75-0.95 million RMB
Settling-in allowance: 0.5 million RMB
Accommodation: transitional on-campus apartment provided or a housing subsidy amounting to 0.15 thousand RMB (for professor) and 0.1 million RMB for doctoral holders.
Research funds:
0.3 million RMB (natural science) and 0.15 million RMB (social science)
Workspace provided if necessary
(2) Remuneration: salary, welfare and performance is set according to national, regional and school regulations.
(3) B-Class Lijiang Scholar enjoys a salary of a full-time professor (level IV) for 5 years even if he/she didn’t obtain a senior position title before being employed. After that, the salary will be decided according to the level of specialty the employee earns.
High-level talents—Level Six
1. Candidates:
Urgently-needed professors; doctors from renowned overseas universities2; doctoral supervisors; leaders of key disciplines at ministerial (provincial) level or above.
2. Qualifications
(1) Urgently-needed professors shall be no more than 50 years old and must possess doctoral degrees; and he/she should meet the following requirements (over the past 5 years):
①presided over and completed scientific research projects at ministerial (provincial) level or above; or
won achievement awards in teaching and academic research at ministerial (provincial level) or above (ranking top 5)
②Humanities and social sciences: published – as the first author – 2 or more high-level academic papers in his/her research field. Published work should include disciplines in A-level journals in Serials Directory of Awards for Academic Papers, GXNU
Science and engineering:
published as the first author or corresponding author 6 or more papers on SCI or EI journals; or
1 academic paper in journals in the second Quartile (Q2) in SCI; or
six national invention patents; academic paper(s) quoted 20 times or more by SCI;
received as the first accomplisher 2 or more national invention patent authorizations, each having been developed and transformed to reach an annual production value of least 10 million RMB; received as the first accomplisher 1 national invention patent authorization, it having been developed and transformed to reach an annual production value of least 20 million RMB.
(2) Outstanding PhD graduates shall be no more than 40 years old, and should meet the following requirements (over the past 5 years):
①Be engaged in scientific research
②Humanities and social sciences: published as the first author 1 high-level academic paper of his/her research field their disciplines in A-level journals in Serials Directory of Awards for Academic Papers, GXNU
Science and engineering: published as the first author, the only author or corresponding author, 1 or more paper in the journals listed on the first-level partition table of SCI.
3. Salaries and Benefits
(1) A lump-sum payment: 0.6-0.8million RMB
Settling-in allowance: 0.4 million RMB3
Accommodation: transitional on-campus apartment provided or a housing subsidy amounting to 0.15 thousand RMB (for professor) and 0.1 million RMB for doctoral holders
Research funds: 0.2 million RMB (natural sciences); 0.1 million RMB (humanities and social sciences)
(2) Remuneration: salary, welfare and performance is set according to national, regional and school regulations.
(3) Doctors from renowned overseas universities enjoy a salary of a specialized technical post level 6 for 5 years if he/she didn’t obtain any or equivalent technical title. After that, the salary will be decided according to the level of specialty the employee earns.
High-level talents—Level Seven
1. Candidates
Doctor, post-doctorate (qualified for front-line teaching research and core curriculum instruction task; aged no older than 40); professors and associate professors with doctor’s degree.
2. Salaries and benefits
(1) A lump-sum payment: 0.35 to 0.6 million RMB
Setting-in allowance: 0.2 to 0.35 million RMB
Accommodation: transitional on-campus apartment provided or a housing subsidy amounting to 0.15 thousand RMB (for professor) and 0.1 million RMB for doctoral holders.
Research funds: 0.1 million RMB (natural sciences); 0.05 million RMB (humanities and social sciences)
(2) Remuneration: salary, welfare and performance is set according to national, regional and school regulations.
(3) Doctors from renowned overseas universities enjoy a salary of a specialized technical post level 7 for 5 years if he/she didn’t obtain any or equivalent technical title. After that, the salary will be decided according to the level of specialty the employee earns.
Other Benefits Enjoyed by Talents at all Levels
(1) Staffing by public institutions
(2) Additional settling-in allowances of 50 thousand per person will be provided for couples that are both scholars with doctor’s degrees conferred.
(3) The University offers appropriate jobs to the spouses of the talents from level 1 to level 6 (Class B Li Jiang scholars); the spouses of level 7 talents with a master’s degree will be recommended for job vacancies in school if available.
(4) The University provides access to the compulsory education for children of school faculty.
Postdoctoral Researchers:
Salary and Benefits:
1. Accommodation is provided by the school;
2. Research funds and conference funds amount to 15 thousand and 6 thousand respectively.

Favorable living conditions: The University is located in Guilin, a world-renowned tourist city boasting rich cultural heritage and karst landscape. The city maintains good air quality year-round. In addition, it serves as a transportation hub in southwest China, allowing residents to take advantage of three-hour flights to major cities in Asia, rendering Guilin a gateway city of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area (CAFTA), and a knot of “Belt and Road Initiative”.
Pleasant working environment:
Wangcheng (The Princess Palace) Campus, one of our three campuses, sits in the urban center around which the city has been growing. The campus is a 5-A national tourist resort, the first of its kind in China, and once served as an imperial examination hall of Guangxi in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
Yucai Campus lies in Qixing District – a 5-minute drive from the well-known ecological park, Qixing (The Seven-Star) Park and an 8-minute drive from Xiangshan (The Elephant Trunk) Hill, a city emblem. Nearby are family-friendly communities and residential houses.
Yanshan Campus stands in Yanshan District, a new district home to 7 colleges and universities. The district enjoys a strategic position in Guilin’s urban layout as an international tourist destination. Close to campus are residential communities and houses.
Highly competitive salary: Outstanding PhD graduates, once employed, are appointed a technical post of level-VII and enjoy salary and benefits of associate professor (level-VII); few are even appointed a technical post of level-IV and enjoy salary and benefits of a full-time professor (level-IV). One year after his/her employment, the employed can obtain a professional title (level-VIII/IV) if qualifications are met. When the first employment term is finished, his/her post will be rearranged based on the professional title obtained.
