A four-member delegation from the French Consulate General in Guangzhou, led by Mr. Olivier Hovasse, Consul for Science and Higher Education Cooperation, visited Guangxi Normal University (GXNU) on the morning of December 12, 2025.

The delegation was warmly received by Li Dongmei, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and Dean of the School of International Culture and Education, at Meeting Room 211 in Building 2 of the International Education Exchange Center on GXNU's Yucai Campus.

In her welcome remarks, Li Dongmei extended a sincere welcome to the guests and provided an overview of the university's history, disciplinary strengths, and achievements in talent cultivation. She emphasized GXNU's consistent commitment to open education and its strong interest in deepening engagement with French higher education institutions to expand collaborative dimensions and opportunities.

Consul Olivier Hovasse expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and spoke highly of GXNU's rich cultural heritage and distinctive educational features. He affirmed the Consulate General's active role in promoting practical cooperation between French universities, research institutions, and academic institutions in southern China, with a special focus on enhancing substantive collaboration with Guangxi Normal University. Mr. Hovasse noted that the two sides share promising prospects in educational philosophy alignment, faculty and student exchanges, and joint scientific research initiatives.

Following the discussions, both parties engaged in in-depth exchanges on faculty and student mobility, academic platforms, and research cooperation, aiming to build higher-quality educational and academic bridges for youth and researchers from China and France.

The visit has established a significant communication platform between Guangxi Normal University and the French higher education community, opening a new window for bilateral cooperation. Both sides agreed to maintain regular communication, advance the planning and implementation of concrete collaborative projects, and contribute to Sino-French people-to-people exchanges, deeper educational collaboration, and the high-quality development of higher education in both countries.
